Dropout
Dropout represents an important chapter in my story. It’s an acknowledgment of the moment I decided the school could no longer offer me what I was seeking. My goals and ambitions didn’t align with the value of a diploma; I wanted to create my own work on my own terms, without answering to anyone. It simply wasn’t necessary.
I learned a lot during my time at OCAD, and I’m grateful for that foundation. But there were things I wanted to explore, things they either couldn’t teach me or outright refused to let me pursue. That frustration reflects a flaw in rigid systems like these. But I understand their intent: to offer paths for people who may not yet know their own direction.
This work is a reflection of my journey beyond those boundaries, embracing freedom, and defining success on my terms.
